Man, 45, dies after being hit by car in Glasgow

A 45-year-old man has died after being struck by a car in Glasgow on Thursday.

Emergency services were called to Bowfield Drive in the Penilee area of the city at about 03:35.

The man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he later died. The driver of the vehicle, a red Nissan Qashqai, was not injured.

Officers closed the road for nine hours as investigations were carried out.

Sgt Ally Wright said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time."

Officers are carrying out inquiries to establish the full circumstances and anyone with information is urged to contact police, external.
