Two released and man on bail over death last year

A man remains on police bail after being arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man last year.

The victim, aged in his 60s, was found unconscious at an address in Hinton Road, Bournemouth, on 20 July 2023. He died in hospital four days later.

Dorset Police had previously arrested three people from the town in connection with the death, but have now said one man and a woman will not face any further action.

A 39-year-old man, who was known to the victim, remains on police bail while enquiries continue.

The force said a detailed investigation into the circumstances of the death was ongoing, and being led by detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT).

Det Insp Mark Jenkins, of MCIT, said: “We have been carrying out extensive enquiries into the man’s death and an investigation is ongoing to understand the full circumstances of the death.”
