Pedestrian, 42, critical after collision with car

A pedestrian is critically ill after she was hit by a car in the west end of Glasgow.

Police said the incident happened on Duntreath Avenue, near where it crosses Great Western Road, at about 14:00 on Friday.

The 42-year-old was taken to the city's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car, a silver Ford Kuga, was not injured in the collision.

Sgt Andrew Coutts said: "We believe there were a number of people around at the time of the crash and we are asking anyone in the area at the time who can assist with our investigation to get in touch."
