Police are investigating a house fire in Worcester after a child and three people were taken to hospital.

West Mercia Police said the occupants of the property, on Brookthorpe Close, were taken to hospital as a precaution but suffered no injuries.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 11:00 BST on Monday.

The incident was being treated as arson but no arrests had been made, said the force.

Officers are asking for anyone with information to come forward after a person dressed in black and wearing a black face covering was reported to be seen near the address.

Members of the public have been advised that an increased police presence should be expected in the area as inquiries are carried out.
