A man who was arrested following a disturbance in Loughborough town centre - prompting the closure of several roads - has been released on bail.

Officers from Leicestershire Police were called at about 12:00 BST on Monday after a man was seen on a roof and concerns were raised "in relation to his behaviour".

A number of businesses in Market Street were evacuated and cordons were in place in Frederick Street, Packe Street and Granby Street for several hours while emergency services attended.

The man was detained on suspicion of being a public nuisance, and has since been released on bail.
