Children offered catch-up flu vaccination clinics
- Published
Children who missed their free flu vaccine in school will be able to attend further catch-up vaccination clinics in Wolverhampton.
City of Wolverhampton Council said all children from reception to Year 11 were eligible for the free vaccination.
Parents and guardians of pupils who missed the school dates and children educated at home can book appointments at clinics this weekend and next weekend.
Councillor Jasbir Jaspal said: "The free vaccine is the best way to protect your children and other family members."
She said it would particularly protect more vulnerable relatives like grandparents or those with underlying health conditions, from becoming ill because of the flu.
"The vaccination is quick and safe and it's also needle free for most children because it can be given via a nasal spray, rather than via injection," she added.
"If your child has missed out on their vaccination in school, or you'd rather take them to a clinic, please book an appointment."
Clinics are taking place this Saturday at Dove Family Hub, Grangefield Close, Ryefield, from 09:00 GMT to 14:00 GMT, and on 30 November at Whitmore Reans Family Hub, Lansdowne Road, at the same times.
A final catch up clinic is scheduled on 11 January at Biz Space, Planetary Road, from 09:00 GMT to 14:00 GMT.
