New double yellow lines to appear across county

Double-yellows are now being brought in or extended across Herefordshire

New double yellow lines are being introduced at several pinch points in Herefordshire.

Herefordshire Council confirmed there would be new no waiting at any time restrictions at several points within Hereford's Eign Hill ward, due to what it called "inappropriate parking at junctions".

The change follows a consultation with residents, the ward councillor, police and haulage representatives.

The council said the proposals were supported by the majority of local residents, with only seven objections being raised during consultation.

The changes will "improve road safety, amenity, and navigability through the prevention of inconsiderate parking", the council said

A council spokesperson said most of the work to set up the new restrictions had been completed, but there was "a small amount left to do, which we anticipate happening in March".

Double-yellows are now being brought in or extended at:

• The junction and internal T-junction In Brookside

• Junctions and bends In Sedgefield Road

• Junctions, bends and narrower sections of Chartwell Road, Bladon Crescent and Blenheim Close

• The junction between Hafod Road, Bodenham Road and Ledbury Road

• The Ledbury Road "service road" and its junction with Quarry Road, "where parking causes obstruction to residents utilising their driveways"

Herefordshire Council also confirmed that elsewhere in the county further parking restrictions were being brought in at Goodrich, Kerne Bridge and Symonds Yat East to prevent blockages by parked cars.

Double yellow lines are also being introduced in Alton Street, Alton Road and Camp Road in Ross-on-Wye, at junctions and where obstruction and visibility issues have been identified.
