Prisoner goes on the run from open prison

A prisoner serving an eleven-and-a-half-year sentence for GBH and violent disorder has gone on the run from an open prison.

Michael Cocksedge, 22, was reported missing at about 19:00 BST on Monday from Hollesley Bay, Suffolk Police said.

He was "absent from a roll call" at the jail on the coast near Woodbridge, the force said.

Cocksedge, formerly of Chatteris in Cambridgeshire, is described as white, about 5ft 6in tall (1.68m), with black hair and hazel eyes.

Police said Shane Stanley was known to have links to Essex

Police issued a separate appeal to trace another absconder on Friday.

Shane Stanley, 41, failed to return to the open prison that afternoon.

He is serving a sentence of 15 years and five months for conspiring to commit burglary, wounding with intent, and other offences, police said.

He is described at white, about 5ft 9in tall, of medium built with black hair and brown eyes.

Police said he was known to have links to Essex.
