Van driver arrested over cyclist's crash death

A van driver has been arrested after a cyclist was killed in a crash on a rural road.
North Yorkshire Police said the collision happened on the B6165 near Harrogate, close to Burnt Yates, at about 18:10 BST on Tuesday.
It was believed a blue Ford Transit van and a pedal bike had been travelling westbound when they collided.
A local man in his 60s was taken to Leeds General Infirmary but was pronounced dead.
The van driver, a local man in his 30s, was arrested and has since been released under investigation.
Police closed the road for a number of hours to allow for forensic investigations to take place.
They appealed for anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
