A cyclist has died in a crash with a car whilst they were travelling in the same direction.

A red VW Polo was travelling on the Witney Road towards Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, when it collided with a bicycle, at about 15:55 GMT on Wednesday.

Thames Valley Police said the victim, a man in his 60s, was declared dead at the scene.

The car driver, a 19-year-old man, was uninjured, officers said.

The force said the driver had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

He has since been released on bail.

Sgt Dominic Mahon, of the serious collision investigation unit, appealed for witnesses and drivers with dashcam footage to contact the force.
