"Meet the welcoming committee," said Chris Bell. "A trio of sheep greeting us on a recent visit to the Island of Coll."

Alan Richardson spotted contrails forming a saltire over the National Wallace Monument in Stirling. He said: "It was one of those 'right place, right time' moments."

"I found this scene on the Isle of Canna extremely peaceful and comforting," said Sandi Wong. "All the green, the colours in the water and the misty Rum mountains. I could look at it all day."

Gill Williams said she sat at the Abernethy Nature Reserve for about 90 minutes waiting for this badger to emerge. She said: "This one came straight up to me totally unafraid before heading off to collect new bedding. Magical."

Margot Howell took this tranquil picture of Seilebost Beach before watching the sunset from the shore.

"Lovely tranquil photo of the cycle path at Kilmalcolm in glorious sunshine," said Janet Macdonald.

Joyce Grieves snapped a hungry young woodpecker in Findo Gask on the Gask ridge near Perth.

Kieran Beauchamp took this snap of Oban, saying: "I'm from Chichester and visit Oban twice a year, and a few days ago went up McCaig's Tower overlooking the town, and got this beautiful view."

Emma Legge spotted this family of swans and signets at Gaddon Loch in Cupar, Fife.

"These sleepy snails clearly weren’t as impressed as I was by the glorious sunrise at Milsey Bay in North Berwick," said Pat Christie.

Josef Szabo snapped this atmospheric cliff scene near the Bullers of Buchan.

Lots of paw prints in the sand at Tentsmuir beach, taken by Jim Adams on a lovely sunny Sunday.

"I caught this cheeky sparrow helping itself to a rather large roll in a cafe in Elie, Fife on Sunday morning," said Rod Henderson.

Graham Donnelly spotted some spectacular lenticular clouds over the Isle of Rum from the campsite on the Isle of Canna.

George Cocker spotted a short-eared owl near Elie, and said that they often hunt during the day.

Peter Crane snapped his friend Steve rolling down the long and winding road into Glen Feshie in the Cairngorms.

This bright photo of the laburnum arch at Balmoral Castle was taken by Meg Watson.

"This was taken on a motorcycle ride to Loch Katrine, it’s a photo of the Sir Walter Scott just as the sun was setting," said John Somerville.
