Four men who supplied and distributed £1m worth of cocaine and drugs into Grimsby and North East Lincolnshire have been jailed for a total of 35 years.

Ringleader Andrew Gordon, Robert Forrest, Lee McGregor and Dale Jackson appeared separately at Grimsby Crown Court.

They had admitted their involvement after using an encrypted online messaging system to bring the drugs into the area and then out to dealers.

Humberside Police said the offences would "not be tolerated" and the force does "everything we can" to take drugs off the streets.

Andrew Gordon, 39, of Roberts Street, Grimsby was jailed for 14 years and four months.

Robert Forrest, 51, of Tennyson Road, Cleethorpes was jailed for 10 years and two months.

Lee McGregor, 40, of Constitutional Avenue, Cleethorpes was sentenced to six months imprisonment to be served alongside his current sentence of seven years and six months.

Dale Jackson, 41 of Camforth Crescent, Grimsby was jailed for two years and six months.

Operation Venetic

Humberside Police started its investigation after the National Crime Agency led "Operation Venetic" which targeted organised crime groups.

The force discovered Gordon was the leader of the group which arranged for the Class A drugs to be brought to the area before Forrest and McGregor arranged for them to be distributed to local dealers.

A raid at a property on Constitutional Avenue, Cleethorpes in May 2020 uncovered drugs, scales and equipment as well as a car containing hidden compartments.

Betwen March and May 2020, officers found the group had supplied 10kg (1.57 stone) of cocaine, 300g (10.5oz) of crack cocaine, 92kg (14.48 stone) of amphetamine and a further 32kg (5 stone) of amphetamine ready to be supplied.

Det Sgt Ray Todd of Humberside Police said: "The impact drugs have is the reason we do everything we can to tackle and disrupt these criminal networks and remove drugs from our streets."
