Boy, 12, arrested after teenage girl stabbed

A 12-year-old boy has been arrested after a teenage girl was stabbed, police say.

The stabbing happened in Adelaide Drive, Sittingbourne, just before 16:00 GMT on Friday.

The girl was taken to a London hospital and is in a stable condition.

The boy was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and remains in custody.

Kent Police has launched an investigation and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward, as well as anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage.
