Free activity sessions including angling, bushcraft and skateboarding are being offered to children in one Surrey district over the summer.

The sessions also covering sports, crafts, dancing, outdoor learning, and music will take place in Dorking and Leatherhead from July.

Mole Valley District Council, working in partnership with sport and leisure organisations, has now opened registration , externalfor the events.

Rachel O’Reilly, executive head of service (community) at the council said it was a "fantastic opportunity" for children in Mole Valley to enjoy themselves indoors and outdoors over the summer.

She added: "It is so important for young people’s health that they keep active and sociable, and these sessions will be a great way to make new friends while having fun."

The activities will run between 23 July and 1 September in the Swan Centre, Leatherhead Leisure Centre and Kingston Road Recreation Ground.

The Dorking locations include Meadowbank Park, The Christian Centre, Dorking Sports Centre, High Ashurst, and St Joseph’s School.

The registration deadline is 19 July, and the council said some activities are available to all aged up to 16, while some are age-specific.
