Routine appointments to see a doctor have will be suspended on Thursday afternoon to allow a quarterly training session.

Manx Care said the latest meeting of all the island's GPs would focus on diabetes and its treatment.

Appointments won't be available between 13:00 and 18:00 BST on the day, but an on-call GP service for urgent cases will be available during the period.

Patients who need urgent treatment have been asked to call their local surgery, where a triage system will be used to provide access to the on-call doctor.

The surgeries themselves will remain open for making future appointments, ordering repeat prescriptions or requesting test results.
