Organisations on the Isle of Man have been encouraged to apply for funding to raise awareness about issues faced by developing countries.

As part of its commitment to supporting international development, the government offers an annual £30,000 grant to be used for education and raising awareness.

The funding is set to be award in August for the year-long programme, with applications due to close on 21June.

The current grant-holder is the One World Centre, which has worked with schools to promote responsible living, and is set to organise the Global Village for Tynwald Day on 5 July.

Other past recipients have contributed to humanitarian efforts and supported the United Nations sustainable development goals.

Last year the grant was refocused to highlight the education aspect of the programme.
