The final batch of tickets for the official viewing area for London's New Year's Eve firework display have been released for sale on Monday.

City Hall closes off an area on the bank of the River Thames from Lambeth Bridge to Blackfriars Bridge which will be ticketed to watch the fireworks on New Year's Eve.

Prices have increased for non-Londoners this year for enhanced security and crowd management.

Tickets for London residents are £20 and £35, but those living outside the capital will pay £40 and £55, depending on the tier.

The mayor's office said the price increase was to comply with Martyn's Law, created following the Manchester Arena attack in 2017.

The reforms require venues with a capacity of more than 200 to have a plan in place in case of an attack on their premises.

There are six different ticketed viewing areas – blue, red, pink, green and white, plus an orange accessible viewing area.

City Hall said only tickets bought from the authorised outlet Ticketmaster, external will be accepted and that no official tickets will be sold by any other websites.
