Land on the edge of Hinckley is being eyed up as a new warehousing and office development

A bid to build a warehouse and office development to provide 1.6million sq ft of floor space is in the pipeline.

Wilson Bowden Developments has earmarked fields on the outskirts of Hinckley, Leicestershire, for an "employment development".

Land in both Leicestershire and neighbouring Warwickshire off the A5 at Chase Fields Farm could be turned over for offices, industrial units and storage and distribution buildings.

Details have come via a "scoping request" signed off by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council (HBBC) seeking advice on information needed to be included when a planning application is submitted, said the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

The proposed site sits next to the existing Dodwells Industrial Estate and across the A5 from a warehouse and office scheme planned by Agrarian Development Holdings at Padge Hall Farm which was approved in 2023.

A planning agent working on behalf of Wilson Bowden said the full plan will "likely" be submitted to both HBBC and Nuneaton and Bedworth council.
