Two boys, 13, arrested over derelict hotel fire

Two 13-year-old boys have been arrested over an arson attack on a derelict hotel.

The blaze caused extensive damage to the former Carlton House Hotel on the corner of Abingdon Street and Queen Street in Blackpool on Saturday.

Firefighters from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the building at about 16:45 BST and roads had to be closed.

Lancashire Police said the teenagers had been questioned on suspicion of causing arson with intent and have been bailed pending further enquiries.
