Feedback sought on major route upgrade plans

A new "greenway" along the A641 for cyclists and pedestrians is due to be constructed as part of the plans

Residents and commuters have been urged to give feedback about improvement plans to a major West Yorkshire route.
The A641, which runs through Brighouse and links Bradford with Huddersfield, is in line for developments which planners have said would make travel along the road easier.
A new "greenway" for pedestrians and cyclists could be created as part of the scheme, while a new bridge on Briggate, in Brighouse, has also been mooted.
In addition, new crossings, improved footways, bus priority measures to improve reliability and junction upgrades all form part of the plans.
Calderdale Council said the proposals for the scheme, which is to be funded by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA), had been formed with help of input from previous consultations.
The greenway would link through Wellholme Park to Brighouse town centre via Clifton Road, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.

A new bridge with a cycling route may also be constructed
A series of drop-in events for members of the public to view the plans in more details are due to take place over the next two weeks.
They are at Bailiff Bridge Community Centre, on Thursday 6 November from 17:00 GMT to 20:00, The Space on Field Lane on Rastrick on Friday 7 November between 15:00 and 17:00 and at St John's Community Hall in Brighouse town centre on Saturday 15 November from 10:30 to 13:30.
Sarah Courtney, Calderdale Council's Cabinet member for regeneration, said: "We've listened carefully and this local knowledge has been really helpful in the development of the latest proposals."
The consultation was "an opportunity to shape further development of the scheme", she added.
"We're investing in Calderdale's transport network to make it safer, easier and greener to travel around."
