Finance chief steps up to chief executive

Steve Sheridan said he was extremely proud to take up the role

Guernsey Post's finance chief Steve Sheridan is stepping up to be chief executive, the organisation says.
Mr Sheridan, who has been chief financial officer for 10 years, takes over from Boley Smillie who has been appointed as the new head of the island's civil service.
Guernsey Post said Mr Sheridan had played a "pivotal role in delivering on Guernsey Post's financial strategy and contributing to several successful strategic projects".
They included the acquisition of freight and logistics business HR Air, and leading on the procurement and installation of the parcel sorting machine.
Guernsey Post chairman Rick Denton said Mr Sheridan had the "necessary skills and leadership style to lead Guernsey Post in the next phase of its development".
Mr Sheridan said he was "extremely proud" and looked forward to the "responsibility of leading the organisation through its next phase, focusing on delivering our strategy to achieve long-term success".
