Teen charged with murder after assault death

Police investigating the death of a man after a serious assault have charged a teenager with murder.

Ryan Burton, 34, from Corby, Northamptonshire, died in hospital on 16 January, six days after an incident in Kettering.

Ace Hill, 18, of Minden Close, Corby, has been charged with murder and robbery in connection with the incident, police said.

The force said nine others - seven men and two women – were arrested as part of the investigation and released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Mr Hill is due to appear before Northampton Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Detectives from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit major crime team are appealing for information about Mr Burton's death.

Mr Burton was "seriously assaulted" in Spring Rise Park, Highfield Road, Kettering, shortly before19:00 GMT on 10 January, police said.
