Police cordoned off a footpath under a bridge in Derby following reports a woman had been assaulted.

Derbyshire Police said it received a call of a suspected attack near St Mary's Bridge, under Duke Street, at about 17:15 GMT on Tuesday.

The force said a scene was put in place while investigations were carried out and it has since been lifted.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact police.
