Firefighters tackle large blaze near Lossiemouth beach

Firefighters were called to the incident on Thursday night

Firefighters were called out to a large blaze that broke out in an area of gorse near Lossiemouth's East Beach.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said it was alerted to the incident at about 18:22 on Thursday.

Large flames and thick smoke could be seen from the area. SFRS said it had not yet classed the incident as a wildfire.

Three appliances and a specialist wildfire unit remained at the incident on until about 13:20 on Friday extinguishing hotspots.
