A tree has to be felled as it has Dutch Elm Disease, the Department of Infrastructure has said

A section of the Isle of Man TT Course will see up to three daytime closures for the removal of a tree at risk of falling into the highway.

The daily closure will be in place from the entrance of Bishop's Court Glen to the northern entrance of Orrisdale Road between 09:30 and 15:30 BST until up to Wednesday.

The Department of Infrastructure (DoI) said it was due to a tree located at Bishop's Court having Dutch Elm Disease, and being "at risk of falling into the highway if it is not dealt with".

The work, being undertaken by an arborist for a private householder, would require a road closure during the felling due to its size.

It means that while the closure is in place, there would be no access to Orrisdale from its junction with Bollyn Road for traffic heading in the direction of Kirk Michael.

However, the DoI has warned that the start of the work may be postponed to Thursday in the event of bad weather, in particular high winds.
