Four arrested in human trafficking probe

Four people have been arrested as part of an investigation into modern slavery and human trafficking in Hull.
Officers used warrants to search an address on Baden Close, a business premises on Beverley Road and a business premises on Spring Bank West in Hull on Thursday.
While there, they seized a large quantity of cash, mobile phones and other items containing financial documentation, as well as carrying out the arrests.
Det Sgt Richard Kirk, from Humberside Police's modern slavery and human trafficking unit, said the warrants were "really important and form part of our ongoing commitment to ensure slavery and exploitation of people in our communities is prevented".
He also said the evidence gathering was a key part in raising awareness of the issues around slavery and exploitation, and in preventing crime as well as helping victims.
Man and women arrested
The arrests are as detailed:
A 66-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of human trafficking, money laundering and possession of an offensive weapon
A 62-year-old woman and 56-year-old were arrested on suspicion of human trafficking and money laundering
A 68-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of money laundering
All four individuals have since been bailed pending further investigation.
Det Sgt Kirk added: “We would encourage anyone with concerns about people they feel may be being exploited or forced into working to contact us on our non-emergency number 101."
