A stretch of motorway has reopened after a multi-vehicle crash caused long delays.

The M1 northbound carriageway was closed for several hours on Saturday between junction 12, near Flitwick, Bedfordshire, and junction 13, near Milton Keynes.

National Highways said one of the vehicles involved had crossed to the southbound carriageway.

Diversions were put in place but the scene has been cleared and the road has reopened.
