A man has been arrested on suspicion of affray after a police stand-off in Derby.

Police were called to reports a man had been threatened by another man with a knife in Wiltshire Road, in Chaddesden, at about 05:00 GMT on Thursday.

Officers located a man at a property in the same road, but he refused to come out of the address, Derbyshire Police said.

Specialist negotiators attended the scene alongside a large number of officers and a man in his 40s eventually left the property and was arrested at 09:20.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Nobody else is being sought in connection with the incident and we would like to thank the local community for their support."
