A woman was sexually assaulted after leaving a city centre nightclub, police have said.

The incident happened in the early hours of 29 September, near the Brown Street car park in Salisbury.

Wiltshire Police said the victim left The Chapel nightclub in Milford Street at around 03:00 BST with a man, who then assaulted her in an alleyway.

They have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

"We believe that two men stopped to speak to the man and woman just before the assault. If that was you, we would like to speak to you," said Detective Sergeant Toni Nugent.

"This is concerning incident in which a woman suffered both physical and emotional injuries."

Police have urged anyone else with information to get in touch.
