Agriculture fire tackled by more than 50 firefighters

More than 50 firefighters dealt with an agricultural fire outside Coleraine.

Six fire appliances were sent to the scene at Kilmaconnell Road at about 20:00 BST on Tuesday, and the fire was put out during the night.

The fire and rescue service said 51 firefighters attended, supported by a command support unit and other specialist vehicles.

Local residents had been advised to keep windows and doors closed and the public were asked to avoid the area as firefighters dealt with the blaze.
