A 37-year-old man who stabbed his victim with a screwdriver has been jailed for 14 months.

Joseph Lamb approached a man aged in his 30s in Westgate in Peterborough city centre at about 09:10 BST on 27 October 2023.

After a brief confrontation, Lamb, of Trelowen Way, Fletton, stabbed the victim in his neck, and left him with a puncture wound. He was arrested later that day.

On Friday at Peterborough Magistrates' Court, Lamb was jailed having admitted assault causing actual bodily harm.

Det Con Igor Simonov said: "Lamb's actions were completely reckless and could easily have resulted in the victim being more seriously injured.

"I'm pleased he was identified, apprehended quickly and has now faced justice for his actions."
