A man who was fatally attacked died from a single stab wound to the chest, an initial post-mortem examination concluded.

Police were called to Paragon Place, Norwich at about 18:45 BST on Friday, where they found a man in his 30s, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further medical tests would be carried out, Norfolk Police said.

Detectives believe the murder was an isolated incident and linked to illegal drugs.

The force said officers would review CCTV footage, complete house-to-house inquiries and pursue forensic opportunities as part of their investigation.

Det Supt Mike Brown said: "We are listening to the local community and appreciate how distressing the past few days will have been for them.

"I want to reassure them that this was an isolated incident.

"We believe that those involved were known to each other with links through illegal drug use and we do not believe there is any wider risk to the general public."

Detectives have appealed for any witnesses who may have seen or heard any suspicious activity in the Paragon Place area to come forward.
