Mother and young girl in hospital after lorry crash

A woman and her nine-year-old daughter are in hospital after a crash involving a car and a lorry on the A74(M) near Moffat.
The accident happened at about 04:25 and closed the motorway southbound for about eight hours.
Police said the 42-year-old woman and her child - who were travelling in the car - had been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
The driver of the lorry involved was not injured.
