Mr Bubbles, a blind duck, is searching for his "special forever home" in Jersey

A blind duck is searching for his "special forever home", an animal charity has said.

Mr Bubbles was found alone in a field in Jersey about three weeks ago and has been staying at JSPCA's animal shelter.

JSPCA said the new owner would need to have previous experience caring for ducks or poultry, but that Mr Bubbles was just "looking for a quiet place to enjoy his retirement".

Emma Duncan, from the charity, said the runner duck needed a home with female ducks to socialise with.

She said: "Usually ducks are a little bit chattier but we think this could change if he's got sort of a familiar presence, and maybe a couple of female ducks, in his new home.

"He's just very good at finding his food, he's very inquisitive, he peeks over the side of his enclosure and tries to find out what's going on."

The charity said Mr Bubbles would need a small enclosed area to stop him getting lost or disorientated and that although he could not join in and swim in ponds, "a small amount of water to wet his bill will be plenty".
