Gas prices in Jersey are set to rise by 7.5% in the next few weeks, the island's energy company has said.
Island Energy said for an average household it would be an increase of about £9.53 a month.
The increase will be in place from 16 January.
Darryl Goddard, interim managing director of Island Energy, said the price increase was due to "geopolitical events across Europe" which have "continued to impact the price of wholesale gas".
Mr Goddard said: "We understand that tariff increases can be difficult for our customers to manage but given these circumstances they unfortunately cannot be avoided."
He added vulnerable customers can register for a priority care scheme and staff will be able to talk through payment plans and spreading out the cost of winter bills.
