A police staff member has been charged with theft following an investigation into corruption allegations.

David Houghton, 59, who works in West Yorkshire Police's digital print unit, is accused of four counts of theft by employee between August 2011 and October 2023.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said an internal audit had raised concerns of potential conduct issues, which then led to an investigation by officers from the force's counter corruption unit.

Mr Houghton, who is currently suspended from the force, is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Friday.
