A police officer has denied charges of non-fatal strangulation and engaging in coercive or controlling behaviour towards a partner.

PC Thomas DeZan, 32, who is based in Skegness, pleaded not guilty to the two indictments during a hearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday and was released on bail.

He will face a trial on 18 January at the same court.

Lincolnshire Police said PC DeZan had been suspended from duty.
