Three men have been charged with arson following a fire which destroyed a tanning salon in a West Sussex town.

Dozens of people were evacuated from properties above the salon during the blaze at TanTastic, in Broadwater Street West, Worthing, on 21 October 2024.

Stuart Jenkins, 62, Brandon Tipling, 20, and Archie Ellins, 19, have each charged with conspiracy to commit arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.

Det Insp Louise Baileff said: "This was a distressing incident that caused concern within the local community and significant loss to the victim."

The men are due to appear before Crawley Magistrates' Court next month.

A woman initially arrested in connection with the fire has been released without charge, police added.
