Radio presenters in the south have completed a mammoth three-legged walk for Children Need.

They joined colleagues from 40 BBC local radio stations who were challenged by Pudsey to tie their legs together and trek a combined total of 1,000 miles.

Presenters from each station were tied to volunteers, who provided the extra leg.

BBC Radio Solent, BBC Radio Oxford and BBC Radio Berkshire each covered 25 miles over two days.

BBC Radio Berkshire's Sophie Drew and Kemi Spence were tied together, as was Ellie Tutt and Katie Tyler.

Both teams plan to walked from different points along the Thames path, meeting in the middle at Hambleden Lock for the finish.

Adam Ball and Sophie Law led teams from BBC Radio Oxford and were greeted by children at New Hinksey Primary School in Oxford, where they crossed the finish line.

The biggest cheer came when the children saw Pudsey walking alongside the presenters.

"That is louder than if Elton John was in the playground," said Sophie.

Katie Martin and Steve Harris represented BBC Radio Solent and were helped every step of the way by a band of volunteers.

Katie walked from the Isle of Wight and Hampshire and Steve made his way across Dorset.

Both teams got together with Pudsey and celebrated their finish outside a primary school in the aptly named village of Three Legged Cross.
