Six further men have been arrested after cocaine worth £40m was seized on a West Sussex beach.

More than half a tonne of cocaine on a rigid-hulled inflatable boat was recovered at Medmerry Beach, near Selsey, on 19 August.

On Wednesday, a 39-year-old man was arrested at Luton Airport.

A total of 12 men have been arrested in connection with the incident as part of a National Crime Agency (NCA) investigation.

On Tuesday, NCA officers arrested a man, 38, in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire; a 45-year-old in Bournemouth, Dorset; a 41-year-old in Poole, Dorset; and a man, aged 36, in Tilbury in Essex.

Another man, 39, was also arrested in Liverpool on Monday.

All have been released on bail.
