A three-day festival celebrating film, music and sound creation is to return to Surrey this weekend.
KinoSonic will take place at Farnham Maltings creative arts centre from Friday to Sunday.
Presented in partnership with the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) it focuses on fostering creativity through a diverse programme of performances, screenings, workshops and networking events.
"Whether you're a cinephile, a music lover or simply curious to explore new artistic frontiers, there's something for everyone," said Farnham Maltings' CEO Peter Glanville.
Highlights of KinoSonic 2024 include four-piece band Minima performing a live score to Alfred Hitchock’s classic 1927 silent film The Lodger, discussions with acclaimed filmmakers Robert Morgan and Peter Strickland and an exclusive Q&A with musician and filmmaker Natasha Khan, known as Bat for Lashes, following a screening of her film The Dream of Delphi - A New Transmission.
The BBC Big Band will also perform a concert of iconic film scores from 80 years of cinema, along with a BFI Network Showcase of short films and immersive audio-visual installations from Dr William Bishop-Stephens and UCA’s Sea of Cables.
There will also be workshops on topics such as Foley sound effects, film scoring and experimental music creation.
