A man has been banned from keeping animals for 10 years after throwing his kitten to its death from his third floor flat.
Abdul Amir threw the kitten from his balcony flat at The Warehouse, Horlicks Quarter, in Slough on 3 September 2024.
Mr Amir pleaded guilty to an Animal Welfare Act section 4 offence of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.
He was given a disqualification order for 10 years from keeping any type of animal, a fine of £192, a victim surcharge of £114, a community order for 18 months and a nominal contribution to costs.
An autopsy on the kitten showed it had been alive when it was thrown from the balcony and no explanation was ever given why Amir did what he did.
Cllr Ejaz Ahmed, lead member for communities, sport, leisure, and public protection at Slough Borough Council described it as a "horrific act".
