Two incidents close road for almost four hours

A road was shut for almost four hours after two separate incidents took place close to each other.

Suffolk Police was first called at 17:40 BST on Monday to reports of a man suffering a medical episode on Civic Drive close to the junction with St Matthews Street.

At 18:05 there was then a collision further down Civic Drive at the crossroads with Princes Street where two pedestrians were hit by a car.

They were taken to hospital by ambulance and it was later deemed their injuries were not life changing before the road reopened at 22:25.

Police said the two incidents were not related.

East of England Ambulance crews were also called to the scene.
