Two islanders have been named in the King's 2025 New Year Honours List in recognition of many years of public service.

As a member of Guernsey States, external for 25 years, Trott is one of Guernsey's longest-servicing politicians.

He has also represented Guernsey's finance sector for six years on the Leadership Council of TheCityUK.
Responding to the honour, Trott said it was an "enormous privilege" and one he "never expected".
He said: "There is no way I could achieve what I have without the help of colleagues within the civil service and my fellow politicians over the years.
"I regard this as recognition to all those who have helped in the delivery of my public service."
