Man arrested as police seize £1.8m of cocaine

A man has been arrested after police seized £1.8m of cocaine during an intelligence operation in Glasgow.
Officers executed a warrant at a property on Wallacewell Road in the Robroyston area of the city.
They recovered 22.8kgs of the Class A drug.
A 38-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.
Det Ch Insp Laura Sands from Police Scotland’s organised crime and counter terrorism unit said: “This is a very significant recovery and sends a clear message that we will not tolerate illegal drugs in our communities and our officers are determined to protect members of the public from this harmful criminality.
“It also underlines our commitment to the serious organised crime taskforce and the country's serious organised crime strategy and we will continue to work with partner agencies to tackle this issue and make our communities safer."
