Two women have admitted conspiring to pervert the course of justice by cleaning blood at a crime scene and arranging to remove CCTV footage.

Jayne Pepper, 54, of Hopewell Street in Barnsley, and Abbie Taylor, 32, of Birkdale Road, committed the crime in the South Yorkshire town between December 2023 and January 2024, Sheffield Crown Court heard.

South Yorkshire Police said Pepper was employed at a hospital at the time and also admitted obtaining a person's medical records without consent during Monday's hearing.

Pepper and Taylor have been released on bail ahead of a sentencing hearing in November next year.

Pepper had her employment terminated as a result of the criminal charges brought against her, police said.
