Man charged after reports of gun fired in car park

A man has been charged after police responded to reports of a gun being fired in a car park near Leicester.

Officers were called to The Glade in Braunstone Town shortly before 10:00 BST on Tuesday.

Leicestershire Police said a 25 year-old man had been charged with two counts of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

He has also been charged with two counts of modifying an imitation firearm, one count of impersonating a police officer and one count of assault of an emergency worker, the force added.

The man has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
