A man suffered a bleed on the brain after being punched at a car boot sale during an argument over the sale of a roof box, police have said.

The 42-year-old victim was attacked at the event on Haunch Lane, Lea Marston, on Sunday and remains in a serious condition in hospital, Warwickshire Police said.

Officers described the incident, which took place shortly before 08:45 BST, as a "nasty" attack.

A 28-year-old man from West Bromwich has since been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

Appealing for witnesses to contact police, Det Supt Michael Brennen said: "Often only one punch placed in anger can lead to life-changing injuries for the recipient, and you will have to live with that fact - along with the legal consequences for serious assault - for the rest of your life."
