An employment programme is celebrating helping 1,000 young people in its first 100 weeks.

The Youth Employment Hub on School Street, Wolverhampton, provides 16 to 24 year olds with opportunities like work experience, mentoring and apprenticeships.

More than 40% of the people it has helped have now entered employment, City of Wolverhampton Council said.

Wolverhampton councillor Jacqui Coogan said the centre provided a friendly setting for young people to get the help they needed.

The centre based at The Way Youth Zone is open five days a week from 09:30 to 15:30 GMT.

City of Wolverhampton Council runs the hub which is supported by government funding.
