The Rotary Club of Guernsey said it would deliver more than 190 food parcels

A record number of food parcels is to be delivered in Guernsey in December because of high demand, an organisation says.

The Rotary Club of Guernsey said fundraising from its flag days would support families and pensioners with food supplies.

The group has been collecting money from islanders to help raise funds for the campaign.

President Andy Salisbury said it delivered about 150 parcels in 2022, but it would deliver more than 190 this year.

He said: "This year, there has been an record demand for it because of the financial crisis that's prevalent at the moment.

"We have had to do some slight modifications in the food parcels themselves - I cut them down a little from what they have been in the past, but we've got to make sure we can pay the bill at the end of the day."
